Why Nor'east Lightning?

Track Record of Success
We are affiliated with the Lightning AAU Basketball Club, one of the largest and most successful organizations of its kind in the United States. This affiliation gives us access to the kinds of resources that players and coaches want. Coaches will receive basketball skills training from top high school and college coaches. The Lightning websites provide comprehensive information and additional resources for coaches and players.

Team Administration Facilitated by Experienced Lightning Staff
Lightning administrators will handle everything for you — register your team and players, help you select tournaments, provide uniforms and gear, and provide all the help you need so you can focus on coaching. Lightning directors will help you develop coaching plans and handle your specific requests for coaching assistance or advice in running a team.

Practice Site
Choose your own site or practice at the Brewster Sports Center. Lightning will provide insurance certificates for the facility you are practicing in.

The squad racked up an impressive 86-38 win over the Brooklyn Kings to wrap up its second straight NY District Championship. Contributions by the entire team throughout the tournament made this Championship extra special.

The team is headed to Memphis, TN June 28-July 4 to play in the AAU DII National Championship Tournament. Last year, the team won the DIII National Championship.

Belmar, NJ - 4-0 CHAMPS

The boys won the U11 Hoop Splash tournament out in Belmar, NJ. Missing from the action was: James Criss, Max Peterson, Mathew Mikulsky and Austin Bates.

DISTRICT III CHAMPIONS

The team went 3-0 on Saturday the 22nd of May beating Hooperstown Huskies, NY Falcons and Westchester Knights. On Sunday they faced the Aviators in the semi-finals and then beat the Long Island Ballerz in the championship at the Island Garden. They now qualify for the DIII Nationals out in Virginia the week of July 1st.

The 13-u Noreasters beat Rhode Island Breakers 64-46. On the way to the Championship game, the boys defeated mid Jersey Heat (NJ), East Coast Elite (CT) and Boston Blue Chips (MA) in pool play and the Rising Stars (NYC) in the
semi-final game. The Breakers defeated the Westchester Hawks Select team in a
semi-final nail-biter setting up the Championship game with the Lightning. The Noreasters are now eligible to play in the D I or DII AAU National Championship tournaments to be played in early summer.
